Job Description

Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Advance your healthcare career while playing a vital role in laboratory operations as a Pathology Assistant. This contract opportunity spans 13 weeks and provides the chance to work within a dynamic clinical setting, supporting essential pathology services.
Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts
Days:
8:00 am - 6:30 pm Friday through
Monday Key Qualifications:
Current ASCP certification required Minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a Pathology or Pathologist Assistant Sound knowledge of grossing techniques, tissue processing, and laboratory best practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with pathologists and laboratory staff Proficiency with laboratory information systems and specimen tracking
Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross examination and sectioning of surgical specimens Prepare and process tissue samples for histologic evaluation Accurately label, document, and maintain specimen integrity throughout all stages Assist pathologists with autopsies and specialized procedures as requested Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements Maintain a clean, organized workstation and assist with quality control measures You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality diagnostic services in a supportive and well-equipped laboratory.
