Job Description

Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced professional to support the pathology laboratory team. This position is ideal for a qualified Pathology Assistant with strong technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail.
Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts per week Day shift: 8:00am - 6:30pm Friday through
Monday Key Qualifications:
ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification required Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Pathology Assistant Demonstrated proficiency in grossing specimens and preparing tissue samples Strong understanding of laboratory safety guidelines and protocols Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with pathologists, technicians, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform gross examinations and dissections of surgical specimens under supervision of a pathologist Prepare, label, and process tissue samples according to established standards Record and verify specimen data with accuracy Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment Ensure compliance with all relevant laboratory regulations and quality assurance protocols Provide support for autopsies as needed Assist in maintaining records, inventory, and documentation in accordance with laboratory procedures
