Job Description

Toledo Clinic's Nephrology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative duties in a fast paced office. This position will work Monday-Thursday (8:00-4:30) and Friday (8:00-2:00). Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex:
RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A
). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus. General Summary Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various clerical duties. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule. Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.). Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.). Escorting patients to exam room. Preparing exam rooms. Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.). Sterilizing and preparing instruments. At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills. Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments. Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays. Administering injections. Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Required:
Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire. Completes all tasks within established time frame. Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed. Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles. Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA). Medicare Exclusion List .
Education:
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
Preferred:
Clinical medical assisting experience.
