Job Description
Departmental Overview From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, the Ortho Central Ambulatory Surgery Center is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes four orthopedic surgeons, a sports medicine physician, bone health experts, physical therapists, and workers' compensation specialists. Our skilled providers can treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. The Ambulatory Surgery Center is open Monday through Friday to meet our patient's needs Job Summary Screens patient and obtains pertinent information.
Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs. Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed.
Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.
Proper communication with appropriate clinic departments.
Satellite Clinic Operations
Clinic Preparation
Provides support to the clinic as needed. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience preferred. Experience Minimum one year experience in a clinical or physician office setting, emergency room, and/or a hospital setting that provides direct patient care with preference given to orthopedic clinic experience.
Excellent communication skills including phone calls, referrrals and electronic records are also required. (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification CNA or RMA preferred Compensation/Benefits $16.72-$27.30/hr depending on previous work experience.
