TITLE:
Dermatology & Aesthetics of Oklahoma
LOCATION
13301 N. Meridian Ave. Suite 201, Oklahoma City, OK 73120
CLINIC HOURS:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

INFORMATION
Experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant. Under minimal supervision of a physician or other medical personnel, performs patient care functions such as physician assistance, scribing, prescription refillls, patient placement, testing, information gathering, nursing duties, chaperoning, supply maintenance, scheduling.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
1. Physician Assistance . Assists physician or other medical personnel in the examination process as required or necessary. 2. Patient Placement . Places patients in exam rooms. Drapes and positions patients for appropriate exams or procedures. 3. Test Performance . Performs routine tests on patients. 4. Information Gathering . Obtains and records vital signs including body temperature, height, weight, and blood pressure. Takes and documents complaints and patient histories including allergies, immunization histories, etc. Maintains patient confidentiality. Receives and returns telephone calls from or to patients and pharmacies. Obtains authorizations and referrals. 5. Nursing . Performs various nursing duties. Assists with both surgical and non-surgical procedures. 6. Chaperoning . Chaperones examinations and patients. 7. Supply Maintenance . Ensures exam rooms are stocked, inventory is taken, supplies are ordered, and instruments and/or equipment are sterilized. 8. Scheduling . Makes scheduling arrangements with other healthcare professionals and facilities. 9. As Needed . Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. Reports to the lead medical assistant.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Dermatology trained is not required, but highly preferred. Modernizing Medicine software training not required, but highly preferred.
Experience:
36 months experience in Patient Care as a Medical Assistant preferred. Entry level Medical Assistant position is available including a probationary period.
Certifications/ Licenses:
CPR Certified. Certified as a Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or qualified
ABR- OE. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to interact professionally with healthcare practitioners and patients. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Must be detail oriented and complete work tasks. Ability to maintain composure even in difficult situations. Ability to be understanding and sensitive to needs of others. EMA/Modernizing Medicine experience is not required but preferred.
