Job Description

Key Personnel is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant to assist physicians with patient care and a range of clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provide patients with information to help them fully utilize clinic services and convey a positive impression of the clinic. May be assigned to support specific providers in different orthopedic specialties.
Orthopedic Medical Assistant Pay Rate:
$17-$22/hr.
Orthopedic Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
Patient Care Support Coordinate patient flow and assist with scheduling and check-in/out as directed. Escort patients to exam or procedure rooms; assist with walking, transfers, dressing, and preparation for exams. Collect patient history, perform screenings per provider guidelines, and support physicians during procedures. Chart and document encounters; relay instructions to patients and families; answer phone calls and provide relevant information. Documentation and Information Management Retrieve and organize lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals, and other records. Complete forms, requisitions, and ensure charts are accurate and filed appropriately. Environmental Responsibilities Set up instruments and equipment per department protocol. Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control standards.
Manage supplies:
ordering, sorting, storing, and restocking as needed. Organizational Responsibilities Respect and promote patient rights; respond appropriately to emergency codes. Communicate patient or staff concerns to immediate supervisors promptly.
