Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for examination, including taking vital signs and medical histories Assist physicians during examinations and procedures Perform basic laboratory tests and collect/prep specimens for testing Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly sterilized Educate patients on medications, procedures, or physician instructions Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records (EMR/EHR systems) Handle billing, coding, and insurance documentation Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to clinical staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) preferred is preferred Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Knowledge of medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and HIPAA regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
