This position is a balance of administrative and hands-on MA work. The Float MA will quickly assess patients' needs both in person and over the phone to ensure that urgent issues are priorities and providers have the right information to make decisions. Hands-on patient care duties include assisting with patient flow, rooming patients, assisting in general dermatology procedures, surgery assisting, Electronic Medical Record scribing on an iPad, lab duties, and phlebotomy. Strong clinical knowledge to recognize urgent vs not urgent symptoms is essential to success in this role. The ideal candidate can remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications :
Certification as a Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited program (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT with a current Medical Assistant Certification or License (OR-MA-C or OR-MA-R) preferred A minimum of one year of prior outpatient medical assistant experience, especially in Dermatology, is preferred. BLS certification. Solid understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare practices Adheres to all policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high-quality and excellent customer service Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining medical records Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the organization's best interest.
Schedule :
Tuesday - Friday, 36-40 hours per week, day shift
Wage:
Wages are determined based on experience, entry wage for this role is $20/hour
