Medical Assistant Job Details:
A Medical Assistant in a prison or jail plays an important role in providing healthcare services to incarcerated individuals. Their responsibilities can vary depending on the facility, but generally, their duties include: Providing healthcare to inmates by assisting with medical procedures, taking vitals, administering medications, and managing health records. Performing basic first aid, assist with screenings, maintain medical supplies, and provide health education. Ensuring patient confidentiality and respond to emergencies, supporting the healthcare team in maintaining inmates' physical and mental well-being within security protocols. Corrections MA /
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
Must have a Oregon Medical Assistant Certification. AHA BLS or ability to obtain. Must be comfortable with treating substance use disorders. Substance Abuse education will be provided if needed.
