Position Summary The purpose of this position is to assist Registered Nurses, Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners in the care of patients in the Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC). This position performs simple procedures and treatments and maintains a safe, clean, and efficiently stocked work environment. Work is performed in various locations throughout SHAC, such as examination rooms, treatment rooms, lab, etc. We are hiring to fill two vacancies. Start dates may be staggered 7/16 & 8/16 Minimum Qualifications from Classification Six months experience providing health care support in a health care facility; OR Completion of a vocational training program in a health care support area (e.g., Medical Office Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant).
NOTE :
Preference will be given to those applicants who possess a knowledge of medical terminology. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Current BLS/CPR certification at the time of appointment Preferred Qualifications Experience providing healthcare support in an outpatient facility Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a focus on patient satisfaction Ability to take initiative and ask about problems as they arise Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to multitask in a team-oriented environment Limited X-ray experience Key Cultural Competencies Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences. Work Days/Hours Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting hourly salary rate for this position will be between $20.98 and $24.99. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU's excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
