Job Description

Our Behavior Specialists are responsible for providing trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, Systems Theory & Relational Theory based approaches, using a holistic approach. We DO NOT provide antiquated ABA-style supports. Behaviors are strategies that we have developed to communicate our needs and cope with our environment. The role of the Behavior Specialist is to work with the client, family, and team to create strategies with everyone that work toward better understanding and strategies for healthy coping. They are responsible for the coordination of services for a caseload and productivity requirements. The person in this role should be able to multi-task with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. The Behavior Specialist role is an salaried role at $50K and is a mobile position, eligible for the standard travel reimbursement rate. The schedule varies according to the needs of the individuals/teams. Please be advised nights/weekends are possible. This role will be across multiple counties within Southeastern PA (ex: Chester, Montco, Bucks, Philadelphia, Delco).
Some Essential Functions:
Conduct trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, Relational Theory based assessments with translating that information into Systemically-based, holistic behavioral plans. Transfer skills by educating on interventions in the plans for everyone's benefit. Clinical coaching occurs with the clients, families, staff, additional team members, and community members. Reinforce those skills through role-modeling and implementation based on adult learning theory and message confirmation. Coordinate teams with therapists and psychiatrists; complete team review form portions for behavioral health tracking and recommendations to translate behavioral information into symptomatic tracking. Act as a team leader focusing on client desired outcomes and team/family cohesion.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required Master's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Human Sexuality, or behavioral support field preferred 2 years of experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or Autism required Experience with mental health supports preferred IND123 Annual
