Position Summary Mountain Valley Orthopedics is seeking a qualified Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work in a fast-paced, high-volume pain management practice within an orthopedic office. The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting physicians and staff in the delivery of patient care while ensuring accurate documentation, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient clinic operations. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees are expected to remain until the last patient has been seen and all patient care responsibilities have been completed. Saturday morning hours are required when the provider is scheduled to see patients. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate patient care needs and physician schedules. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting medical histories, current medications, allergies, and other relevant clinical information. Room patients and accurately enter patient information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Assist physicians during patient examinations, evaluations, injections, and pain management procedures. Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies necessary for procedures and patient care. Complete and process physician orders, referrals, prescriptions, testing requests, and other computer-generated patient documentation. Review patient charts prior to appointments to ensure all required reports, test results, imaging studies, and documentation are available for physician review. Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of examination and treatment rooms. Monitor and replenish medical supplies and equipment in all patient care areas. Properly dispose of contaminated materials and biohazardous waste in accordance with OSHA regulations and infection control protocols. Assist with coordination of patient care and communication between providers, patients, and staff. Travel between multiple office locations, including East Stroudsburg, Brodheadsville, and Milford, as required. Provide support to physicians, clinical staff, and administrative personnel as needed to ensure efficient practice operations. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management or supervising physicians. Required Skills and Abilities Ability to accurately document patient information and maintain detailed medical records. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions and procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced clinical environment. Knowledge of orthopedic and pain management procedures and treatments. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and patients. Knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and OSHA safety standards. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and computer applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a high standard of patient care. Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in pain management or orthopedics. Experience working in a busy, high-volume pain management or orthopedic office preferred. Compensation Salary is commensurate with experience, skills, education, training, and certification.
