Job Description

Our Family Medicine practice needs an office Medical Assistant who can perform the duties involved with rooming patients, taking vital signs, giving immunizations, EKG's, spirometry, scheduling patients in EMR. We're looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as people rather than numbers in a file, and who understands the value of compassionate service. The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking, but the ideal candidate will know when to slow down, look patients in the eye and provide personalized service. Responsibilities include; (1) Prepare patient for examination. (2) Note brief history or reason for visit in the patient's electronic chart. (3) Take and record height,weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen levels and temperature. (4) Assist the clinical staff in completing examination and procedures as instructed. (5) Administer medications and injections as ordered. (6) Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients. (7) Assist the medical staff in patient education. (8) Stock exam rooms with supplies. (9) Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and PAs availability (10) Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller's needs yourself (11) Obtain laboratory samples and complete paper work as ordered by the provider. (12) Any other duties or responsibilities the clinical staff may assign from time to time and when the need arises. (13) Ability to relate to the public regardless of racial, ethnic and economic status
