The ideal candidate will have up to date MA and CPR Certification, demonstrated experience, and the ability to multi-task and act as a team player. Experience in EPIC (or similar) is preferred. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply!
Duties:
Prepare the environment to ensure that the all necessary equipment/information is available for effective and efficient care during the visit. Greet the patient and helps the patients feel prepared for their visit. Complete vital signs, weight and height, EKGs, eye and hearing exams, as assigned. Ensure that all documentation is correct and complete. Prepare forms, complete paperwork, and ensure medical records are filed. Perform inventory control and ordering supplies, as assigned Initiates and performs rapid HIV test, including consent form. Assist with therapeutic procedures. Prepare and administer medications as ordered. Collect and preserve bodily fluids, blood, and other specimens, performing STAT tests as needed.
Manage referrals:
obtaining health insurance authorization, completing referral form, making referral appointments for patient, coordinating on-site Transportation Services, and notifying patients when referral is complete. Prepare and forward request for medication refills as assigned. Perform lab tests with standing orders (including but not limited to blood sugars, urine dip, etc). Record and track lab results, providing to primary care and recording in patient file. Inventory supplies on a regular basis, order and store as needed. Ensure lab equipment properly maintained which includes knowledge of routine handling/usage, storage, and cleansing/sterilization. Ensure equipment is serviced according to manufacturer's and/or OSHA guidelines. Assist primary care providers and clinical nurses in collecting information related to triaging patients. Consistently practices universal precautions. Participate in relevant Practice committees. Perform duties of Medical Receptionist as needed: scheduling, registration, updating patient records, answering phones, etc.
Requirements:
Medical Assistant certificate CPR certification COVID Vaccine Proof•initial round (booster not required)
