The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, and specialty areas such as dermatology, geriatrics, and medical-surgical units. This role involves supporting clinical operations through patient intake, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Candidates with hospital experience, Level I or Level II trauma center exposure, or clinic experience are highly preferred. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow and delivering high-quality healthcare services in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, specimen collection, and basic wound care. Support physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings. Document patient interactions thoroughly using electronic health records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas in compliance with safety standards. Support medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and insurance verification. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required. Prior experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Experience with EHR systems and proficiency in documenting clinical information accurately. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or OR experience are a plus. Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like urgent care or hospital settings. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
