Job Description:
About the Role Vitalant is seeking a Medical Assistant to play a vital role in supporting patient care at our Hemophilia Center of Western PA. This position is responsible for assisting clinical staff, supporting patient visits, and ensuring a positive and efficient experience for patients with bleeding disorders. Monday•Friday, 8:00 AM•4:30
PM Starting Pay:
$21.00•$23.00 per hour, based on experience Our comprehensive total rewards support you, your family, and your future with Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401K + 5% company match Tuition assistance up to $5k per year Free basic life and AD&D insurance Free short-and-long-term disability insurance Paid time off Employee Resource Groups Recognition and perks Key Responsibilities Support patient care by assisting providers during clinic visits Prepare patients for examinations, including obtaining and documenting vital signs Assist with patient intake, documentation, and medical record updates Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records Prepare, label, and handle specimens in accordance with established procedures Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient care Maintain clinical supplies and assist with inventory management Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations Support clinic workflow and assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED required Medical Assistant certification preferred
Experience:
Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting required Experience working with patients in a fast-paced environment preferred Phlebotomy experience highly preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting Basic knowledge of medical terminology Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems #
