Job Description

Medical Assistant Position Summary The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care and office operations. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner and escort them from the waiting area to examination or treatment rooms. Obtain, document, and review patient medical histories, surgical histories, current medications, allergies, and other relevant health information. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring patient comfort. Assist physicians and providers during patient examinations, treatments, and minor procedures. Prepare injections, medications, and treatments as directed by the physician and in accordance with established safety protocols. Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, and dressings as instructed by the physician. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, postoperative care, and follow-up instructions as directed by the provider. Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical information accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Address patient phone calls, messages, prescription refill requests, and other communications in a timely and professional manner. Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure cleanliness, organization, and regulatory compliance. Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable healthcare regulations and standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive health information. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct as outlined in the employee handbook and policy manuals. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support patient care and practice operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Previous clinical experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and EMR systems. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
