Responsibilities:
Make referrals to members of the extended care team and/or notify provider of post discharge needs or discrepancies in plans of care. Mentors, orients and provides ongoing training to current and new staff members. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics. Prepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately. Other front office responsibilities, as required. Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol. Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control. Accompany patients to exam/procedure room. Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc. Collect patient information/history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines. Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed. Perform phlebotomy, EKG's, and level one labs. Assist physicians with procedures. Document patient information into the medical record. Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed. Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, shifts include 7AM-3:30PM, 7:30AM-4PM, & 8AM-4:30PM.
Location:
Washington, Waynesburg, and Cecil, PA Offices. Must be able to travel to all three offices as needed. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of Medical Assistant program, or equivalent hospital program, or successful completion and maintenance of certification examination and 1 year of patient care experience, or Two years of direct patient care experience required Successfully complete the UPMC preceptor training and serve as a preceptor and mentor to newly hired team members. Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in all practice category specific tasks.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
