Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as emergency medicine, dermatology, geriatrics, and intensive care. Your expertise will support physicians and healthcare professionals by performing clinical and administrative duties that ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality service. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting vital signs using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, taking X-rays, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings. Support physicians during examinations and treatments by providing necessary instruments and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Manage medical documentation including ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient records accurately, and supporting billing processes. Conduct basic life support (BLS) in emergency situations while maintaining composure and professionalism. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare teams by answering questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating care across departments such as Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I Trauma Centers. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and hospital policies. Support administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and managing patient flow in outpatient clinics or hospital units. Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in diverse healthcare settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, or specialty units such as dermatology or emergency medicine. Familiarity with hospital environments like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with EHR systems for documentation, order entry, and coding purposes. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology to support accurate patient assessments and treatments. Experience performing clinical procedures such as X-ray imaging, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and specimen collection. Prior work in inpatient settings including Geriatrics wards or the PICU is advantageous. Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments like urgent care centers or hospital emergency departments while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to dermatology or internal medicine are a plus.
