Job Description
The Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) supports the planning, execution, and oversight of clinical research studies across all phases. This role ensures that trial documentation, communication, and operational activities are organized, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and sponsor requirements. The CTA works closely with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), Clinical Project Managers (CPMs), investigators, and cross‑functional teams to keep studies running smoothly and on schedule. Description Maintain and update the Trial Master File (TMF) or electronic TMF to ensure inspection‑readiness at all times. Track essential documents, site communications, regulatory submissions, and study milestones. Coordinate study logistics such as meeting scheduling, site communications, and shipment of study supplies. Support the setup and maintenance of study systems (CTMS, eTMF, EDC, safety databases). Assist with vendor management tasks, including tracking deliverables and timelines. Serve as a central point of contact for study sites, CRAs, and internal teams. Draft and distribute newsletters, meeting minutes, and study updates. Help organize investigator meetings, internal team meetings, and training sessions This role enables efficient study execution through strong organization, document control, and operational tracking, and provides foundational CTMS data support for a system that is in place but not yet fully utilized. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of the clinical trial lifecycle and GCP Experience supporting multiple studies concurrently Familiarity with clinical systems (e.g., CTMS, document repositories) Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through Ability to take ownership as needed Ability to work effectively in an environment with developing processes and infrastructure Prior sponsor‑side CTA experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
