Medical Assistant / Front Desk (Full-Time)
  • Direct Primary Care Braintree, MA Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Competitive Pay + PTO + Paid Holidays, and 401k About Action Medicine Action Medicine is a growing Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice providing personalized, high-quality care without insurance barriers.
Our team includes a physician, two nurse practitioners, and a physician assistant, working collaboratively to deliver longer visits, same/next-day access, and strong patient relationships. We care for patients of all ages and emphasize efficiency, accountability, and clear communication in everything we do. Position Overview We are hiring a Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator to support both clinical and administrative operations . This is a hybrid role requiring the ability to manage: Patient-facing front desk responsibilities Clinical duties EMR workflow and task management This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and takes full ownership of their work. Key Responsibilities Front Desk / Patient Services Greet and check in patients Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars Answer phones, triage calls, and respond to patient messages Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment Clinical Medical Assistant Duties Room patients and obtain vital signs Administer vaccines and injections Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing (strep, COVID/flu, urine, pregnancy) Assist providers with procedures and treatments Manage lab workflows and specimen handling Administrative & EMR Workflow Process incoming faxes, records, and patient communications Route and manage tasks within EMR (AtlasMD or similar) Handle medical records requests Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation Required Skills & Qualifications Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred 1+ year experience in medical office, primary care, or outpatient setting preferred Experience with EMR systems (e.g., AtlasMD, Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth) Strong phone etiquette and patient communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Proficient with computers, email, and basic office systems Key Expectations (Read Carefully) Tasks must be fully completed, documented, and confirmed before being marked done Referrals, labs, and patient requests must be tracked through completion (no dropped tasks) All patient interactions must be documented clearly in the EMR Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Must communicate proactively with providers and team members Preferred Traits (What Makes You Stand Out) Highly detail-oriented and organized Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities Comfortable working in a small team environment Thrives in structured, process-driven workflows Why Join Us Smaller practice with strong team collaboration Meaningful patient relationships (not volume-driven care) Opportunity to grow with a modern, evolving practice Supportive environment with clear expectations
