Medical Assistant -Endocrinology and Diabetes Location:
North Conway, New Hampshire Position Type:
full-time, 40 hours per week Join a compassionate, patient-centered team providing specialized care in endocrinology and diabetes management. As a Medical Assistant , you will support providers in delivering high-quality care to patients managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other endocrine-related diagnoses. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients over time. Key Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliation Assist providers with exams and in-office procedures Perform point-of-care testing (including blood glucose testing and A1C collection) Administer injections and vaccines as appropriate Support diabetes education and reinforce provider care plans Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Provide compassionate, respectful patient service at every interaction Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).License/Certifications:
Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.Experience:
One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.Additional Skills/Requirements Required:
