Overview The Primary Care Clinic provides a pediatric medical home for children of the Kansas City metro area. Our care team provides high-quality primary care for children from birth through adolescence. The primary care team works with medical specialists, social workers, clinical service coordinators, case managers, registered dietitians and allied health providers to create care plans to meet each patient's unique health care needs. Medical Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under direct supervision of a physician, APRN, PA, or RN. Assignment of job responsibilities are delegated by the medical provider, RN, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager or Resource Manager assigned to supervise the Care Assistant and in accordance with this job description. • Provides supportive patient care.
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficient and safe operations.
• Performs clerical functions.
• Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
• s responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skill level).
• Must follow standardized protocols for vaccine administration and specimen collection to ensure patient safety and data accuracy
• Key requirements include obtaining informed consent, providing Vaccine Information Statements (VIS), using sterile techniques, proper storage of samples, and meticulous documentation Qualifications
• HS diploma or equivalent and
• 1-2 years experience
• 1 year of experience in patient or customer facing roles
• Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• One of the following required upon hire:
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Registered Medical Assistant
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
• National Certified Medical Assistant
