Job Overview Sentara Cardiology Specialists is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant!

Monday
  • Friday, about 8a to 5p Overview The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

REQUIRED
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Certification/Licensure Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA
  • Certified Medical Assistant or RMA
  • Registered Medical Assistant or EMT
  • Emergency Medical Technician BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Experience One year of clinical/administrative experience
REQUIRED
Phlebotomy experience preferred
