Job Description

Join Our Team! We are seeking a motivated, experienced Equine Hospital Assistant to join our growing hospital team. This position is ideal for an individual with strong equine handling skills, clinical experience, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced equine hospital setting. Primary Responsibilities Assist with the care and monitoring of hospitalized equine patients Administer treatments and medications as directed by veterinarians Monitor patient condition and promptly report any concerns Assist with emergency admissions and critical care cases Prepare patients for elective and emergency procedures Induce, monitor, and recover horses undergoing general anesthesia for both elective and emergent surgeries Monitor anesthetized patients using hospital equipment and anesthesia protocols Assist veterinarians and surgical staff during procedures Maintain accurate medical records and treatment sheets Ensure hospital, treatment, and anesthesia areas remain clean, organized, and stocked Qualifications Previous clinical veterinary experience required Previous equine handling experience required Experience with anesthesia monitoring preferred; training available for the right candidate with a strong clinical background Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent communication and teamwork skills What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Paid time off Employee discounts on services and products Continuing education and professional development opportunities Hands-on experience with advanced equine medicine, surgery, and anesthesia A supportive team environment dedicated to exceptional patient care If you are looking for an opportunity to expand your skills in equine anesthesia, emergency medicine, and hospital care while working alongside a dedicated veterinary team, we would love to hear from you.
