Director of Nursing Position Summary :
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for providing medical care to the patients under the direction of a physician or healthcare provider.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collection of selected data about the health status of a patient. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by provider Monitor and record patient vital signs and symptoms, communicating any significant changes to the healthcare team. Assist with diagnostic tests and follow up appointments, ensuring patients receive appropriate care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards. Provide care for each patient in a safe, comfortable, and private environment. Provide preventive care information/education that correlates with patient age, sex, and health issues. Maintain current knowledge of
HEDIS/UDS
Measures and review with every patient. Assist in wound care, dressing changes, and other routine medical procedures. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of patient rooms, equipment, and supplies. Adhere to infection control protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe and clean/sterile environment to prevent the spread of diseases. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance medical skills and company development. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding healthcare procedures and self-care techniques. Collaborate with healthcare teams and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Effective, accurate patient documentation in real time. Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to use various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures. Ability to take and interpret vital signs. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Ability to react calmly and effectively in busy or emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone and in writing. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, management and peers.
Requirements:
Current and active CMA certification American Heart CPR certification Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting. Strong organization skills and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with focus on providing exceptional patient care. Compassion and patient-centered approach. Physical Requirements:
Able to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the Telephone. Requires occasional lifting, upwards of 15lbs, including assisting patients when required. Adequate Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
