Job Description

Liberty Doctors, LLC - Dorchester Medical Associates - is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our busy Family Medicine practice in Summerville, South Carolina. This is a full-time position in a patient-focused office dedicated to providing exceptional care and customer service. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Practice Manager Physician Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a physician or mid-level provider, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical support and assists in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical office setting. The CMA plays an important role in supporting providers, coordinating patient care, communicating with patients and families, and ensuring efficient office workflow. Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, documenting vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, providing patient education, and supporting daily clinical operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination Obtain and document patient vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature Accurately document patient information and quality measures in the medical record Assist physicians during examinations and procedures Serve as a medical scribe for physicians as needed Provide patient instructions and education as directed by the provider Maintain stocked and organized exam rooms and clinical supplies Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments in accordance with office protocols Answer and manage telephone calls, messages, and patient inquiries professionally Communicate effectively with patients, pharmacies, providers, and other healthcare staff Obtain prior authorizations as needed Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments by ensuring all necessary reports, labs, and documentation are available in the medical record Utilize office equipment and clinical modalities appropriately Perform other duties as assigned by the
Practice Manager Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills Exceptional customer service and professional phone etiquette Ability to maintain efficient patient flow and organized clinical systems Proficient computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skills
Education and Experience:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting required
