Staff Full Time Job Description The Clinical Skills Assistant supports the delivery of laboratory and clinical activities by organizing faculty, animals, equipment, and consumables for instructional use. This position assists with laboratory preparation, set-up, clean-up, animal care, inventory management, and equipment maintenance. The role requires strong collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure that students gain essential veterinary clinical skills in a professional, effective learning environment that emphasizes risk reduction Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience handling small animals Preferred Qualifications A.S., A.A.S., or B.S. in Veterinary Technology Knowledge of university program goals and objectives Familiarity with veterinary medical field Relevant experience in higher education

Job Duties Assist designated faculty and staff in providing clinical and laboratory experiences for students in an efficient and professional manner Support student learning under faculty and staff direction to help them develop veterinary clinical skills and entry-level competencies Assist with laboratory preparation, including organizing faculty, student groups, animals, equipment, and consumables Help with laboratory set-up and clean-up Assist with the handling, maintenance, monitoring, and care of small and large animals used in teaching Ensure that all OSHA and USDA guidelines are implemented in student clinical activities Assist with maintaining care of teaching animals in compliance with IACUC requirements including documentation in medical records Maintain accurate inventory of clinical skills laboratory equipment and consumables Assist with ordering, tracking, and replacement of supplies and equipment Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students Participate in University and College committees and initiatives as appropriate Perform related duties in support of the College s and University s mission and evolving needs HigherEd360 is part of the HigherEdJobs network.
