Job Description

Job Overview:
As a Medical Assistant at PH Wellness, you will be a vital part of our dedicated team focused on providing high-quality and compassionate care to individuals undergoing substance abuse detoxification. Your role will involve comprehensive client assessments, medication administration (self-administered by our clients), and collaboration with the treatment team to ensure a safe and supportive environment during the critical detoxification phase and during residential treatment phase.

Swing and Graveyard shift available
Responsibilities:
Gathering Consents Obtaining medical histories and assessments under the direction of the supervisor. Works with the physician to monitor health status to determine whether the health status warrants transfer of the resident to receive urgent or emergent care. Observes clients, charting and reporting changes in client's conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action to assure client safety. Measures and records client's vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations when required. Report any discrepancies to physical or medical lead. Works as part of a health care team to assess client's needs, planning and modifying care and implementing interventions. Facilitates educational groups on medication management. Is responsible for requesting inventory and requisition of supplies and instruments (Biofeedback, drug screens, breathalyzer, etc). Is responsible for monthly first aid box checks and for keeping staff updated of their location, ensuring staff access to at least one box at each facility. Is responsible for distribution of scrubs for clients use upon admission, and holding detox technicians accountable for the timely return of each set, by filling out proper documentation. Ensures non-licensed staff does not perform any monitoring of activities that require a license. Re-assessing for re-admission with the Physician. Testing associated with detoxification from alcohol or drugs and set up for Lab Work and check results. Providing alcoholism or drug abuse recovery or treatment services within the scope of practice. Overseeing resident self-administered medications. Treating substance abuse disorders, including detoxification as per Physicians orders. Managing IMS compliance for safety and security of clients. Documentation of IMS progress of clients. Collecting resident data in a timely manner. Coordinate with other disciplines to provide the highest level of care as necessary. Attends treatment team and staff meetings. Logs medications, destructions, changes, and client observations of self-administration per company protocol. Responsible for proper medication disposal with local pharmacy. Responsible for Infection Prevention and Control related tasks assuring cleanliness at all times. A "health care practitioner" means a person duly licensed and regulated under Division 2 (Commencing with Section 500) of the Business and Professions Code, who is acting within the scope of practice of his or her license or certificate. "Incidental Medical Services" means services that follow the community standard of practice to address medical issues associated with either detoxification from alcohol or drugs or the provision of alcoholism or drug abuse recovery or treatment services.
Licensure/Certification:
Maintain licensure and or Certifications such as CPR/First Aid, and
RADT/CADTP
certification. Continued Education Hours and that license remains in good standing.
Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
