JOB SUMMARY AND WORK SCHEDULE
The Medical Assistant will facilitate health screenings, eye examinations, and hearing and vision screenings in the school-based clinics under the direction of a Nurse Practitioner or Optometrist. The work schedule is based on a 10-month school schedule (August-May). The Medical Assistant works MONDAY-FRIDAY and
NO WEEKENDS. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Take and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Perform laboratory tests, as directed. Assist medical personnel with physical examination & screening of patients. Process and sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies. Manage the inventory of medical supplies, initiating purchasing activity when necessary. Manage the daily lifting, loading, and set up of equipment and exam rooms upon arrival and at departure; take inventory of medical supplies. Drive the mobile team to and from the designated school location.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Assistant diploma required. Medical Assistant Certification preferred. CPR/First-Aid certification, clinic, customer service, and experience in a family practice or pediatrics office are preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to lift 60 pounds.
