Medical Assistant

A Full time or part time Medical Assistant opening position is available at Gethsemane Cardiovascular Clinic, PLLC providing patients with safe, quality care throughout their treatment and disease process. In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Medical Assistant works under the general direction of the physician and nurse practitioner to provide healthcare. Phlebotomy skills is preferred. Available days is Monday through Wednesday 8am to 5pm Thursday 8a- 4pm and Friday 8am to 1pm. For more additional information please call the office at 615-494-1255. Responsibilities Measures patient height / weight and vital signs. Reviews medication lists and preferred pharmacy information with patient and enters/ updates in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at each encounter Reviews patient allergies and updates in EMR at each encounter Reviews health histories and other assigned historical information with patients since last visit and updates in EMR at each encounter. Completes all assigned /required screening questionnaires and records data in EMR Reviews need for prescriptions /refills at each encounter. Assists with telephone incoming calls /voicemails, returns phone calls Assists receptionist in various secretary duties Verifies accuracy of or works collaboratively with front office staff to schedule appointments and or arrange referrals at the direction of the provider Assists with insurance pre-authorizations for scheduled visits, referrals and or medications Completes all required/assigned training, continuing education. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Routine lab draws

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proven ability to multi-task in fast paced environment is essential. Phlebotomy skills is preferred Knowledge of organization policies, procedures systems. Skilled Athena One EHR System. Skill in verbal and written communication. Skill in gathering and reporting information. Skill in customer service Ability to work effectively with staff Demonstrates a positive, respectful, empathetic attitude at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent One year experience in a health-care related field Physical requirements may include standing, walking, sitting, fingering or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, reaching or stretching, and crouching or stooping
