Job Highlights:
Greet and assist patients and visitors, sign them in and obtain insurance information and other necessary data Maintain the organization of a medical office and ensure the medical environment is welcoming, calm, and quiet for patients and their families. Provide compassionate service to patients while managing patient communication, filing, and answering telephones Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents. Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients. Coordinate patient and physician schedules. Answer multi-line phones and help handle patient needs and requests. Provide administrative support to the office and team members.

Work Location:
One main location, with one satellite clinic located within 25 miles of our main office Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors, assessing their needs and direct them appropriately Answer phone as needed Verify &/or enter all patient demographic information in the EMR Check for necessary referrals Have appropriate forms completed, signed, and assemble patient charts Schedule patients for office visits, procedures, and other x-rays and tests as requested Confirm all patient office visits and procedures which have been scheduled for the next day Managing and updating patient records Capable & able to travel and perform job duties at other Practice Sites Adopt the practice culture of respect, integrity and accountability that contribute to an internal environment of teamwork and promote a positive brand image to our external customers Incorporate a leadership mindset to your role Comply with practice procedures, policies, and regulations relevant to your role Successfully completes all practice training requirements (i.e OSHA, HIPAA, HealthStream, compliance, etc.) Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements and/or guidelines Able to maintain standards and professionalism during periods of fluctuating workloads Provide professional service to direct customers in all interactions Build effective working relationships with other team members Manage daily tasks to ensure business needs are consistently met This role routinely uses standard office equipment Exercise appropriate clinical judgment relative to any given situation and demonstrate attitudes and behaviors that are professional, empathetic and courteous at all times Patient Triage Take patient chief complaint and recent history of present illness, past medical history, social history, previous endoscopy/colonoscopy history and family history. Blood Pressure, pulse and weight will be recorded with each visit A current medication and allergy list is to be updated and maintained in the chart with each office visit Respond to patient phone calls Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, lab tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as needed Manage referrals as directed Manage patient prescriptions as directed by provider Turn over exam rooms Maintain patient centered data in a neat and organized manner Management of patient orders Maintain an organized, efficient and professional work environment Maintain, manage and coordinate Prior Approvals and Authorizations depending on the Utilization Management process of the specific Managed Care Company and Medicaid Team work with co-workers and physicians to obtain optimal patient care General problem solving Insurance follow-up / verification Documenting interaction with payer Performing procedures under supervision such as hemorrhoid banding and anorectal manometry Patient Teaching to include but not limited to HCV therapy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease therapy, Bowel preps Answer patient questions per procedure preparation instructions Attend in-service presentations and complete all mandatory education requirements
