Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee. Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis. Job Title:
Medical Assistant (CMA)
JOB SUMMARY
The CMA will assist Registered Nurses with clinic duties.
Schedule:
The work hours are 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Obtain vital signs, heights and weights on Consumers that present to clinic. 2. Review current medications with Consumers as needed. 3. Be proficient in phlebotomy. 4. Order labs by requisitions and/or computer. 5. Provide assistance to designated teams as needed. 6. Attend scheduled nursing staff meetings. 7. Stock/maintain lab and exam rooms according to OSHA standards at main clinic or satellites. 8. Serve as patient advocate. 9. Prepare equipment and aid physician or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) during treatments and examinations as needed. 10. Maintain consumer records for the smooth implementation of medication orders. 11. Obtain UDS and pregnancy tests as ordered by physician or
APN. REQUIREMENTS
Certificate of training from college or technical school (CMA) Valid Tennessee Medical Assistant certification Current phlebotomy skills required. Valid Tennessee Driver's License Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation Personal Automobile Insurance
