As a vital member of our team, you will assist podiatrists in delivering excellent patient care, perform clinical tasks, and ensure smooth office operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about foot and ankle health and interested in working in a medical setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Patient Care :
Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures. Take patient histories, vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure), and document medical information.
Clinical Support :
Assist podiatrists with treatments, including wound care, dressing changes, and casting. Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
Procedural Assistance :
Support podiatrists during foot and ankle procedures. Administer injections and local anesthesia (as directed) and assist with diagnostic testing.
Diagnostic Testing :
Take and process X-rays as needed. Ensure proper positioning and use of equipment.
Administrative Tasks :
Schedule patient appointments, handle patient inquiries, and manage patient records in our electronic medical record (EMR) system. Process insurance information and ensure accurate billing.
Patient Education :
Provide patients with information about foot care, treatment plans, and rehabilitation instructions.
Medical Office Duties :
Maintain a clean and organized office environment. Order and manage medical supplies, ensuring proper inventory.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification (CMA or PMAC) preferred. Experience in a medical office or clinical environment, preferably in podiatry or a similar field. Knowledge of podiatric terminology, medical equipment, and procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems and medical billing/coding is a plus. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and team members. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
