Job Description
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the Medical and Nursing departments in providing care to the clients. The Medical Assistant will perform duties under the direct supervision of the Medical Director, DON and ADON.
- Using computer applications
- Answering telephones
- Greeting clients
- Collect blood samples for testing
- Perform data entry
- Prepare samples for laboratory services
- Collect urine drug screens
- Taking and recording vital signs
- Perform observation rounds on clients as ordered
- Preparing patients for examination
- Assisting the RN/LVN, ADON and DON during exams and assessments
- Operating office medical equipment
- Performing CLIA waived laboratory tests
- Report elevated vital signs or any observed complications to the nurse on duty
- Administering basic first aid
- Maintains safety of the physical environment
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
- Notify the County and/or State Health Department of any reportable diseases, adhering to all internal, county, and state procedures
