Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced dental office environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address inquiries. Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Athenahealth. Utilize dental terminology to assist patients with their needs and provide relevant information. Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Process patient payments and insurance claims, ensuring compliance with ICD-9 coding standards. Assist with inventory management of office supplies and dental materials. Support the dental team by coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely service delivery. Support Physician and Staff. Requirements Proficiency in computerized systems for scheduling and record management. Previous experience in a dental office is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology is essential. Strong clerical skills including 10 key typing for efficient data entry. Experience with phone systems to manage multi-line calls effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
