In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks in fast-paced outpatient and inpatient settings. Your expertise in medical procedures, patient interaction, and administrative support will ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills across diverse medical specialties including dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and hospital medicine. Duties Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Support clinicians during procedures such as X-ray imaging, medication administration, or minor surgical interventions in outpatient or inpatient settings. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient information, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updating medical records promptly. Conduct basic laboratory tasks like specimen collection or processing tests in accordance with safety protocols. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and coordinating follow-up care. Support hospital-based teams with specialized knowledge in areas like Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I Trauma Center environments when needed. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or specialty practices like dermatology or urgent care. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to diverse specialties including emergency medicine and medical-surgical units. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or ICD coding are a plus. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions including appointment scheduling and insurance documentation. Experience working in hospital environments such as Level II trauma centers or Level I trauma centers is highly desirable. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure in fast-paced settings like ORs or Geriatrics clinics.
