In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support diagnosis and treatment plans. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Support clinical procedures such as administering medications, performing X-rays, and assisting with minor surgical or dermatological treatments. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems by entering patient data, updating records, and coding diagnoses using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes. Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to aid providers in diagnosing conditions related to internal medicine or geriatrics. Support hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics by coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent patient service. Assist with emergency medicine situations by supporting Level I or Level II trauma center protocols when needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, including the preparation of supplies for procedures in surgical or outpatient settings. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program preferred. Proven experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration is essential. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or OR experience are a plus. Prior hospital experience—especially within Level I or Level II trauma centers—is advantageous. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions is necessary for success in this role. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations.
