You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical history Ability to start IVs proficiently is a must. Pre-op patients for procedures. Organize and schedule appointments Update and file medical records Prior pain clinic experience is a plus Prior primary care experience is a plus. Check with patients and type up patients charts Assist during medical examinations Sterilization/autoclave experience is a plus Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Efficient rooming and discharge of patients is a requirement. Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Scanning, faxing, email, Microsoft suite expertise Scheduling patients Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office, EMR systems and patient management software Degree in medical assistance (CMA) preferred
