Job Description

Job Summary Join One of El Paso's Fast Growing Home Health Agencies! Since 2022, Seniors Helping Seniors El Paso has been dedicated to providing exceptional home health and personal assistance services throughout the El Paso community. As a veteran-owned agency, we are committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that allows individuals to remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their homes. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting our clinical staff, coordinating patient care, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within our home health agency. Duties & Responsibilities Assist with patient intake, admissions, and documentation processes. Obtain and record patient health histories and clinical information. Prepare and maintain patient records in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA regulations. Coordinate physician orders, referrals, and communication between clinicians, physicians, and patients. Assist the Director of Nursing with scheduling patient visits and coordinating care services. Monitor and track physician orders, plan of care updates, and required documentation. Support skilled nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams with administrative and clinical tasks. Process and maintain medical records, certifications, recertifications, and discharge paperwork. Conduct follow-up calls to patients and caregivers regarding care plans and appointments. Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and state home health regulations. Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and office medical equipment. Answer incoming calls and provide professional customer service to patients, families, referral sources, and healthcare providers. Participate in agency meetings, in-service training, and continuing education activities. Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred. Minimum one (1) year of medical assistant experience preferred. Home health, hospice, primary care, or healthcare office experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation standards, and healthcare regulations. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Professional appearance and customer-service-oriented attitude. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Valid Texas driver's license required. Why Join Seniors Helping Seniors El Paso?
