Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately. Collect patient histories and perform initial assessments to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring proper positioning; assist with minor procedures as needed. Manage medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including charting patient information and updating records promptly. Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient intake processes. Handle specimen collection, medication administration under supervision, and basic X-ray procedures when qualified. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, sterilize equipment, and adhere to infection control protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, or specialized settings like dermatology or geriatrics. Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and emergency procedures to ensure accurate patient care. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Knowledge of EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient data management. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications like X-ray tech or OR experience are advantageous. Familiarity with inpatient care settings including PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics units, or medical-surgical wards enhances your candidacy. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or hospital trauma centers. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to ensure accurate intake processing and vital signs recording.
