Collect and document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints. Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs/ECGs) and assist with cardiac diagnostic testing as directed. Monitor and document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Administrative Responsibilities Schedule appointments and diagnostic tests. Answer patient phone calls and respond to messages in a professional and timely manner. Coordinate communication between patients and the provider. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process prescription refill requests according to clinic protocols. Additional Responsibilities Maintain exam rooms and ensure adequate medical supplies and equipment. Follow safety procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings. Support clinic workflow and assist team members as needed. Qualifications Required Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Current CPR/BLS certification. Knowledge of medical terminology and cardiology-related conditions. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR). Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a cardiology, internal medicine, or specialty clinic. Experience performing EKGs and phlebotomy. Familiarity with cardiac testing, including stress tests, Holter monitors, and event monitors. Skills and Competencies Strong patient care and communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality.
