Monday•Friday, 8:00 AM•5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) Position Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical and administrative support to Tarrant County Public Health staff, ensuring efficient patient care and adherence to public health standards. This role is vital in supporting the health and wellness of the community by assisting with medical procedures, patient education, and administrative tasks in a professional and compassionate manner. Key Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments Record vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information accurately Administer immunizations and medications as directed by licensed staff Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies Support patient education on health practices, preventive care, and treatment plans Perform administrative duties including scheduling, documentation, and data entry Ensure compliance with public health regulations, HIPAA, and safety standards Collaborate with staff to maintain smooth clinic operations Qualifications Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Valid CPR certification preferred Prior experience in a clinical or public health setting strongly desired Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care standards Strong communication and organizational skills; Bilingual preferred, not required Ability to work independently and as part of a team Dress Code & Professional Conduct Employees represent Tarrant County to the public and fellow staff. Personal appearance and conduct should leave the best possible impression at all times. Clothing must be clean, neat, and appropriate for the role Apparel that creates distractions or presents safety hazards is not permitted Professionalism, courtesy, and respect are expected in all interactions Work Environment Position is based at the same site and department throughout the duration of the contract Collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on serving the health needs of the Fort Worth community Staff are expected to model professionalism and uphold the values of public service
