Work involves specialized administrive judgment and the flexible use of a wide range of clinical flow processes reling to access to care across multiple clinics, specialties, and/or care in the community resources. Recommends changes to existing clinic procedures based on current administrive guidelines. Expertise in utilizing numerous advanced pient systems in support of multiple clinics involved in an interdisciplinary coordined care delivery model. Coordines with the pient care team to review clinic appointment availability (utilizion) to ensure th clinic schedules are closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinics and makes adjustments as necessary. MSAs this level develop and/or maintain effective and efficient communicion with the pient, interdisciplinary coordined care delivery model teams, VA medical centers, and other agencies (e.g., assist with communicions during the inpient to outpient discharge; communice with non-VA medical facilities; prepare correspondence to notify pients of normal lab results; manages a system for follow-up care such as consults, tests, etc.) Processes incoming pient secure messaging through MyHealthyVet and coordines with care team as approprie; participes in team huddles and team meetings to manage, plan, problem solve, and follow-up with pient care by sharing informion and collaboring with the interdisciplinary team; setting priorities and deadlines, adjusting the flow and sequencing of the work to meet team and pient needs; identifies incomplete encounters and communices findings to providers; as needed; enters approprie informion into the electronic record; monitors pre- appointment informion and/or requirements to assure readiness for pient /procedure; manages pient systems to verify and valide accuracy and resolve issues; evalues pient informion and clinic schedule lists to determine whether the pient requires an immedie appointment; informs team members about shared pients (i.e., those who receive their care multiple VA centers or those who receive care in the community). Answers questions such as those dealing with the pient's eligibility for services, availability of appointments, procedures for obtaining an appointment, requests for appointments and/or appointment changes. Schedules, cancels, reschedules, follow-up and/or consult appointments. Processes emergency and non- emergency transfers to other VA facilities or prive hospitals. Monitors, request, scan, and updes pient insurance informion via insurance buffer software (ICB-NTX-live) and or the Pre-registrion program. Verifies, updes, and confirms current demographic informion, and use of Integred Scheduling System (ISS) and/or Veterans Health Informion and Technology Architecture (Vista) software packages- preregistrion menu when pient's check-in for their scheduled or unscheduled appointment. Advanced Medical Support Assistant (MSA) performs pre-registrion via telephone during pre- appointment and pre-registrion calls by proper identificion of pients by requesting identifiers such as de of birth, next of kin and full social security number.Work Schedule :
