In this vital role, you will provide hands-on clinical support while assisting physicians, patients, attorneys, and healthcare professionals throughout the continuum of care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills combined with experience in personal injury (PI) cases, Letters of Protection (LOPs), and medical coordination processes. Your energetic approach, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will ensure seamless operations across outpatient clinics, hospital settings, urgent care centers, and specialty practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to expand your experience across diverse medical specialties while playing a critical role in helping injured patients navigate treatment and recovery. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including obtaining medical histories, recording vital signs, documenting symptoms, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately. Assist physicians and healthcare providers during clinical examinations, procedures, injections, wound care, and treatment planning. Support patient care in outpatient, inpatient, urgent care, orthopedic, pain management, chiropractic, and emergency medicine settings. Coordinate care for personal injury patients, including scheduling appointments, verifying treatment plans, managing referrals, and ensuring continuity of care. Work directly with attorneys, case managers, and provider offices regarding Letters of Protection (LOPs), authorizations, medical records requests, and treatment updates. Maintain and track PI case documentation, ensuring timely retrieval of imaging reports, procedure notes, billing packets, and medical records. Assist with medication administration, X-ray procedures, basic life support (BLS) protocols, and patient education to promote safety and positive outcomes. Support diagnostic and administrative functions, including ICD coding assistance, insurance verification, chart preparation, and medical documentation. Manage patient flow efficiently by coordinating appointments, confirming follow-up visits, minimizing no-shows, and maintaining communication with patients throughout treatment. Assist with hospital-based activities, including inpatient rounds, emergency interventions, trauma support, surgical preparation, and OR coordination when applicable. Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and PI workflows to ensure accurate communication and documentation. Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality in all interactions and documentation. Provide compassionate, professional patient service while thriving in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment. Experience & Qualifications Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, urgent care, hospital medicine, orthopedic, pain management, chiropractic, or emergency department settings required. Experience handling personal injury (PI) cases, Letters of Protection (LOPs), attorney communications, and medical records coordination strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems and medical documentation workflows. Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, trauma care, internal medicine, geriatrics, and multidisciplinary treatment coordination is required. Knowledge of PI billing workflows, treatment scheduling, records retrieval, and patient case management preferred. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred. Additional experience with ICD coding, radiology support, or insurance verification is advantageous. Strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage high patient volumes efficiently. Demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail in patient interactions and documentation. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
