Sign On Bonus Available Position Summary:
The Lead Medical Assistant provides leadership and support within the Cardiovascular Value-Based Care (VBC) program by guiding MA workflows, ensuring documentation quality, and supporting clinical initiatives tied to cardiovascular outcomes. This role balances frontline patient care, staff training, and workflow management, collaborating with RNs, LPNs, Social Workers, and the Operations Manager to optimize patient engagement and program performance.
Responsibilities:
Train and support all new MAs on workflows, EMR documentation, and cardiovascular VBC processes. Create and maintain step-by-step "How To" guides (with visuals) for workflows and tasks. Lead daily huddles with the MA team to review assignments, priorities, and outreach needs. Mentor MAs on patient engagement, documentation standards, and care gap closure Manage day-to-day MA workflows, ensuring coverage for patient intake, outreach, and RPM support. Assist with PTO requests, call-out tracking, and adjustments to schedules. Help develop staff schedules, including staggering lunches and optimizing coverage. Support the Operations Manager with workflow management and efficiency projects. Audit MA documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with VBC requirements. Monitor RPM/PCM dashboards for adherence, pending training, missed readings, and incomplete minutes. Lead and participate in quality initiatives focused on cardiovascular outcomes. Audit documentation for quality assurance and provide feedback to improve performance. Assist in special projects related to cardiovascular care management, such as new workflows, technology rollouts, or population health initiatives. Support interdisciplinary huddles by preparing data on MA activity, RPM adherence, and care gap closure. Partner with the RN Lead to escalate clinical issues identified during MA outreach or RPM monitoring. Contribute to VBC reporting by maintaining accurate records of MA activities and outcomes. Maintain Employee license tracker Up to Date.
Requirements:
Clinical Skills:
Competency in vitals, patient intake, documentation, and EMR workflows. Ability to train, guide, and support MA staff in both clinical and operational workflows. Strong ability to manage schedules, monitor callouts, and ensure workflow coverage. Attention to detail in auditing documentation and monitoring dashboards. Effective in both patient interactions and interdisciplinary team collaboration. Proficient in EMR/EHR platforms, Microsoft Office/Teams/ Excel, and population health dashboards. Able to quickly address workflow issues and adapt to changing patient or team needs. Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) required. Previous experience as a lead MA, trainer, or preceptor strongly preferred. Familiarity with population health and value-based care programs is a plus.
