Medical Assistant GOH Medical Irving, TX Job Details Part-time $17 - $24 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Athenahealth Teamwork Vital signs In-person customer service Medical scheduling High school diploma or GED Medical Assisting Typing Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description GOH Medical is looking for an experienced part-time office Medical Assistant with at least 1 year (preferred) in primary care. Welcoming and attentive to the needs of all patients and creates a positive, pro-active patient experience by managing expectations while demonstrating compassion and respect. Functions as a member of the health care team by assisting in the delivery of patient-focused care by demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette Triage and process messages from patients to team Schedule appointments and proactive outreach to support patients Handle correspondence and appropriate paperwork as needed Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Participate in staff meetings and vendor fairs as requested Follow up on visits, referrals, etc. Other administrative related duties as assigned Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): Traditional Medical Assistant Clinical responsibilities Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart Preparing patients for examination Assisting the providers during exams Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens and CLIA waived tests Performing basic "in office" procedures including EKG, Spirometry, etc. Educating patients about medication, special diets, and conditions Preparing and administering injections as directed by a provider Authorizing prescription refills as directed Proper documentation in EMR Medical Inventory management Phlebotomy, vitals, and other clinical duties as assigned
Requirements:
CMA, MA, Medical Assistant- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program and certified as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or registered as a Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) Extremely efficient, organized, and resourceful; must also be flexible and able to function well in a fast-paced environment with great interpersonal skills Passion for improving health of others to help them "add years to their life and life to their years" EMR experience required; (Athena Health) is a plus Willingness to cross train, learn, and expand skills is a must Demonstrated communication and customer service skills; must have excellent listening and communication skills Computer literate with a 50+ words per minute typing speed expected High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years in the field, a plus Fluent in Spanish, a plus
