Job Description

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support nurse practitioners/doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. (
NOTE:
Professional references are requested such as former/current supervisor, instructor, manager, no family or friends)
WORK SCHEDULE
HOURS:
8:00AM - 8:00PM or as scheduled. Must have the flexibility to work extended hours, be available on evenings and weekends and to be placed on call. Work location assignment may vary and travel will be required to the different Centers. Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical history Organize and schedule appointments Update and file medical records and insurance reports Arrange counseling patients on birth control methods and laboratory services such as pregnancy tests, STD tests, HIV tests, etc. Check with patients and enter unto EHR system for patients charts Assist during medical examinations Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office and NextGen patient management software License in medical assistance
