Medication Assistant - Full-Time Institute of Precision Pain Medicine - 5.0 McAllen, TX Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Biology Vital signs HIPAA Health Science Organizational skills Full Job Description Institute of Precision Pain Medicine The Institute of Precision Pain Medicine is seeking a motivated and professional Medication Assistant to join our growing Interventional Pain Management practice. This position is ideal for a 3rd or 4th-year college student pursuing a degree in a science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Nursing, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Pre-Med, or similar) who is looking to gain valuable clinical experience and exposure to the healthcare field. Responsibilities Review and update patient medication records Communicate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions, medication questions, and prior authorizations Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Coordinate patient care and follow-up tasks Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Provide administrative and clinical support as needed Room patients and obtain medical histories Take and document vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in a science-related field Junior or Senior standing preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment Interest in medicine, nursing, physician assistant studies, pharmacy, or other healthcare professions Prior healthcare experience is preferred but not required What We Offer Hands-on exposure to patient care and clinical operations Mentorship from experienced healthcare professionals Experience with medication management and interventional pain medicine Excellent preparation for future healthcare careers, including medical school, nursing school, physician assistant programs, and other allied health professions
