We are seeking a reliable, organized, and friendly Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator to join our growing practice. This position combines clinical support responsibilities with front office administrative duties and serves as a key point of contact for our patients. Position Summary The Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations by providing outstanding patient service, managing front office functions, and assisting providers with clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health setting. ResponsibilitiesFront Desk Duties Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner Answer and direct incoming phone calls Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments Collect copays, balances, and patient forms Check patients in and out accurately Maintain patient records and ensure documentation is complete Manage incoming faxes, emails, and correspondence Coordinate referrals and obtain prior authorizations as needed Medical Assistant Duties Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and medication information Prepare patients for appointments and assist providers as needed Update electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely Process prescription refill requests according to office protocols Assist with laboratory orders, referrals, and follow-up communications Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED Minimum 1 year of medical office, front desk, or medical assistant experience Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism Preferred Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or mental health settings Skills & Competencies Compassionate and patient-focused approach Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent time management skills Professional phone etiquette Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Benefits Competitive compensation Paid time off Health, dental, and vision insurance (if applicable) Supportive and collaborative work environment Schedule Monday - Friday No weekends (or specify if applicable) Day shift
